Welcome to the free download page for Bernina and Viking sewing machine service and operating manuals. Old mechanical Bernina and Viking sewing machines are very well-built and extremely reliable. I like them because the well-made machines work very well and give you complete independence. You don’t need to service these machines at a professional dealer. If you do need to go to a dealer for adjustments and cleaning, it’s not very often at all.
Maintain your sewing machines by cleaning the moving assembly of the bobbin case (the bottom part under the needle plate) and oil the moving parts. I do it approximately every 24 hours sewing using regular fabrics (linen, cotton, silk). If I am using fleece, jersey, or other fuzzy fabrics, I clean and oil my machine more often.
Once in a while, you need to remove the outer covers and service your sewing machine. The nice thing about the old mechanical Bernina and Viking is that you can open the outer shields and do the work yourself.
It’s always nice to have a guide or a manual when you are taking apart such a complicated piece of equipment. Finding service manuals and operating manuals on the Internet is not an easy task. For this reason, I have uploaded the manuals on my site. I want them available for me and anyone who needs them. I didn’t write the manuals, so I am not charging any money for them.
